As we become more tuned in to each other, and relaxed into the process, we can broaden our conversational repertoire. Our companions are always most erudite when discussing universal/personal energies, offering incisive guidance about the meaning of life, and our lives in particular. They aren’t at their best when asked for specific predictions or information about world affairs. Probabilities and possibilities are fine to discuss – what if’s are ideal – but not absolutes such as when, where and who. They deal in broad brushstrokes, not meticulous detail.

This isn’t because they’re phoney or incompetent but because they’re without a manifest body and so experience a fascinating multi-faceted reality. Temporal things don’t hold them in thrall as they do us. Although they empathise with our concerns, it’s the energies behind problems that interest them; the patterns, not the minutiae. They witness existence as an etheric flow, not a fixed line, and in a fluid Now all futures are subject to change. But although they’re more aware, they still haven’t returned fully to the Source and so still have an individual – and so limited – perspective, even if it’s broader than ours. If we’re currently at the rim of the Wheel of Life then our companions are a spoke connected to the hub. It’s only at the hub – the Source – that we experience everything concurrently and know all there is to know without the limitations of a particular perception.

There’s another reason why asking our companions for specific information isn’t advisable and that’s because of our fallibility. When we want to hear something – the name of the next President, when we’ll meet our true love, if our son will pass his final exams – we’ve stopped being open and the transmission distorts through the filter of need. We’ll hear whatever we expect, not what’s being said. Yet when we ask about eternal truths and potentiality we’re receptive, not anticipating a particular answer.

That’s why our companions are guides, not dictators of absolutes or oracles.

If our relationship is built on lively discussion then our lives will be enriched and we won’t be disappointed. Our companions will gain by knowing eternal wisdom is being disseminated into this world, through us. It’s a win-win situation.

We can meet in our wild sanctuary as suits both parties. As we feel more confident we’ll be able to meet without the circle of blue flame simply by asking our companion to reveal themselves truly to us. Then we’re more at liberty to wander where we will and perhaps enjoy new experiences outside our created realm, going on educational/inspirational journeys. When we’ve finished a session we can part company by saying something like:

‘May you keep what’s yours and may I keep what’s mine, returning to our own realms but never really parted. May our link remain until we renew it here again. Go well!’

This gives the companion leave to exit the circle in their own way. Then we can follow our route back to ‘ordinary reality’ from the lair.
